Roger Merrill Painting Scope of Workmanship
The following procedures will be applied as necessary to your particular job under normal conditions. These following Scopes of Workmanship will be superseded by actual per project procedures set forth in a proposal.
Preparation
- All necessary areas will be covered and protected with drop clothes or plastic.
- Surfaces will be prepped properly, and patched as necessary before final coats are applied.
- Windows will be reglazed (When applicable) as needed.
- All cracks in surfaces will be filled as necessary.
- All cracks in exterior surfaces will be filled and textured to match if possible.
- Glossy surfaces and trim will be sanded or surfaced prepped then wiped cleaned to assure proper paint adhesion.
- Scrape and sand rough areas when lead is not an issue due to previous paint failure. Lead is a possible circumstance for residences and commercial buildings built prior to 1978.
- All new and raw wood will be spot primed as necessary.
- Apply a stain sealer or primer to water-stains and tannin wood stains.
- Work areas will be cleaned-up and debris will be taken away.
- Upon completion, left over paint will be labeled and left at the job site for future customer touchup.
- Hardware to be removed and re-installed, only when specified in proposal.
Body and or Trim
- Apply a primer when necessary on all bare and new wood or stucco and one (1) coat or two (2) coats of latex paint of the highest quality based on as proposed.
Windows And Doors
- Apply primer as necessary and one (1) coat or two (2) coats of latex sheen paint of highest quality for the finished coat based on as proposed.
- Work Standard
- All work is to be completed in a workman like manner according to standard practices. Worker/s will remain on job until completion of project. Work site will be cleaned daily and upon project completion. All agreements are contingent upon strikes, accidents, or delays beyond our control.
Insurance
- Liability insurance and workman's compensation insurance are carried by (forth coming).
- On approval of this contract, within a reasonable time, you will be sent a copy of a Certificate of Insurance.
Limited Warranty
- Roger Merrill painting warrants labor and material for a period of two (2) years. If paint failure appears, we will supply labor and materials to correct the condition without cost to you. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied. Our responsibility is limited to correcting the condition as indicated above.
- This warranty excludes, and in no event will Roger Merrill painting be responsible for consequential or incidental damages caused by accident or abuse, temperature changes, settlement or moisture; i.e., cracks caused by expansion and/or contraction. Existing cracks will be properly prepared as indicated at time of the job.
- Horizontal walking surfaces are excluded from this warranty.
Customer Responsibility - Please take specific note of job description.
- Colors must be chosen one (1) week prior to start date. An additional cost will be charged for color changes made after commencement of work.
- Items not specified in proposal are not included in price unless otherwise stated.
- Interior painting, please have fragile, breakable, electronics and valuable items moved out of work areas prior to start of project.
- Alarms must be turned off while work is in progress.
- Occupants must vacate work area while job is in progress.
- Customer is to be available to meet with foreman on the last day of job.
Change Orders
- This is only a proposal and your acceptance is subject to our approval in order to make this contract binding.
- If after you agree to this work, and you desire any changes of additional work, please contact us as the cost of all revisions must be agreed upon in writing. Workers are instructed not to undertake additional work without authorization.
- Starting date is to be agreed upon verbally. Changes in the scope of work may require additional cost.
- It is essential that the work area be available to us, free from other trades. As a result of trade interference, Roger Merrill painting may leave the job and additional charges may be incurred.
Note!
- Under normal conditions when estimating sub straights both interior and exterior, proper preparation procedures can be estimated. However, when actual preparation of scraping or sanding discovers adverse unforeseen conditions and or other hidden conditions that may exist, the owner will be notified before further work commences. Due to these factors, added labor and material cost may become necessary.
COST
- We propose to furnish material and labor and complete the project in accordance with the contract specifications for the sum of all as stated above.
- Price is valid for thirty (30) days, unless otherwise noted.
NOTE: This proposal may be cancelled within three (3) days from the date of signing of the your contract.+
Cancel Transaction
- You may cancel this transaction, without any penalty or obligation, within three business days from the date of your signature accepting the terms of this entire agreement. In order to exercise your right to cancel, please sign below.
